In the 1990’s, I began a process of returning to my gearhead roots by once again building guitar and bass amplifiers for me and my friends in my garage. Occasionally, I would actually sell one of my creations at the Fingerboard Extension music store in Corvallis. Some of the people who had seen these items for sale there contacted me in the interests of learning how to do the same, and so I started The Corvallis Vacuum Tube Collective and began inviting those people over to my place for weekly tutorials, amp construction projects, and (as depicted above) occasional whiskey shots.
